What this is
Ratio30 builds virtual reality for people who will judge it in the first ten seconds — because that is how long it takes a headset to convince someone or lose them. Luxury walkthroughs, training simulations, brand experiences and product configurators, built to hold frame rate on hardware that punishes you for not caring.
Most VR work fails for one of two reasons. It is uncomfortable, or it is slow. Comfort is a design problem: locomotion, turning, horizon stability, where you put the UI. Speed is an engineering problem: draw calls, tile-based GPUs, foveated rendering, and a frame budget measured in single-digit milliseconds. We treat both as non-negotiable, because a headset removes every fallback a flat screen gives you.
Shipped
A meditative cave, built for Quest.
A guided meditative experience for standalone headset — a stone cave, a seat, a shrine, and a voice. Almost nothing happens, which is precisely the difficulty: with no action to hide behind, every flaw in the lighting, the audio and the frame pacing is the whole experience.
Awaiting headset capture and stills from the build.
Non-negotiable
The numbers a headset does not forgive.
- Frame rate

- Frame budget

- Draw calls

- Locomotion

- Vignette
- On by default
- UI distance

Never a target. A floor.
At 90Hz, everything in eleven milliseconds.
Tile-based GPUs punish overdraw brutally.
Teleport, snap turn and continuous, all shipped.
Tunnelling during motion. Off is opt-in.
Closer than that and the eyes fight to converge.
Capability
What Ratio30 does.
- 01
Immersive experiences
Brand, retail and property experiences where the point is to feel somewhere rather than look at something.
- 02
Training simulation
Procedural training with measurable outcomes — the same task, repeated, scored, without consuming physical inventory.
- 03
Real-time 3D
Configurators and visualisations that run at interactive rates instead of rendering overnight.
- 04
Quest and PCVR
Standalone builds for Meta Quest 3 and 3S, and tethered builds where the fidelity ceiling matters more than the cable.
How it runs
The working method.
- 01
Comfort first
Locomotion, turning and UI placement are settled before anything is built. Retrofitting comfort does not work.
- 02
Grey-box in headset
Untextured, on-device, week one. Scale and pacing only read correctly at 1:1.
- 03
Hold the budget
Frame time is a hard constraint from the first build, not a cleanup task before shipping.
- 04
Playtest with strangers
People who already know the product cannot tell you whether it is legible.
